As citizens of the United States,

We call on each and every US Congressperson and US Senator to join the people of this country, who want our government and our country to be the model of human dignity. You don't have to walk with us. Just STAND WITH US! in solidarity. Will you join us in our demand for the cessation of hate crimes and racially prejudiced profiling by law enforcement officials that are being committed with impunity in the name of the "rule of law" and on the pretext of national security?

Of all the countries of the world, human dignity should be guaranteed to any member of our human family that lives within the boundaries of our United States of America, the land of the free. If we are going to enforce the "rule of law", our county cannot go wrong, and can only be blessed, by applying the highest "rule of law", the Golden Rule. That of doing unto others as we would want them to do unto us, if the shoe were on the other foot.

Congressman Dennis Kucinich, along with his gracious wife, Elizabeth, has taken the lead on the part of nationally elected officials, in supporting the Citizens' Walk for Human Dignity. The Citizens' Walk organizers will be reaching out to and inviting all Congresspersons and Senators to show their solidarity with we the people for human dignity.

Citizens Walk for Human Dignity. May 2-11. Tucson to Phoenix.

Dennis Kucinich"Dear Friends, Thank you for your courageous "Citizens' Walk for Human Dignity". Events like this are very important if we are to achieve respect for the civil rights and human rights of all people. Your effort in Arizona is important for America. Each step you take is an affirmation of the power of the human spirit to respond powerfully to oppression. Every step you take challenges the system to be respectful of human dignity. Every step you take helps America to take a new direction so that we may one day soon reach that place where the rights of all people are respected. Si Se Puede."

MESSAGE FROM JAY JOHNSON-CASTRO: Jay J. Johnson Castro Sr.

Hello y'all...

This is a citizens' walk. And it is getting exciting. The solidarity is growing daily. This may very well be the beginning of a national movement to establish human dignity as the standard of conduct in this country.

We want to highlight for all the nation to see...the power of human dignity as we push for the indictment of any who would commit such immoral and illegal conduct as hateful racial profiling..

While we will not prevent the undocumented from joining us and expressing their freedoms of speech and assembly, we do not encourage them to join in this walk. We do not want to bring them into harm's way.

At the same time, we discourage the carrying of our identification with us. A citizen does not need to carry an ID or proof of our citizenship while walking in our own country. If someone were to be detained for lack of ID, then they'd have to take us all in.

The following are some common sense points of conduct that we will employ during the walk.

1. Peaceful at all times...with dignity
2. No angry comments, hateful posters or hostile conduct.
3. No retaliation, verbally, in conduct or demeanor.
4. Polite to law enforcement.
5. Respectful of the rights of any in opposition.

If anything, let us display kindness, politeness and respectfulness to any who don't understand the importance of human dignity. If we have a chance, let's offer water to any in opposition who might be thirsty.

Overall, we, the nucleus of this walk, do not want to feature the sheriff. Let's do all we can to avoid any focus on him. He'll get plenty of attention as it is... which is like feeding a cancer. Let us not be a source of attention for him. Let's make this about us, we the people, and our concern for our country and those who live among us.

What we want to bring attention to are the hate crimes that are being committed with impunity, as well as the mind-set that allows racist supremacists to rule over the masses. Let's focus on the victims of racially motivated hate crimes and profiling. We are against such conduct anywhere in the United States.

We want to show fellow citizens across the country a clear distinction and contrast between hateful indignities and respect for human dignity. May we conduct ourselves in a way that would inspire the millions of fellow citizens across the country to stand up with us... and bring an end to the tyranny.

- In solidarity... Jay

IN ARIZONA:

"We are in agreement with Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon, who is seeking an investigation of the Maricopa County Sheriff’s department.

We walk seeking the indictment and prosecution of any who willfully abuses the constitutional rights of citizens," states organizer Jay Johnson-Castro. "American values and the future of our country are at stake when people live in fear and are terrorized."
